Who We Are and What We Do
The Casualty Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST) formally known as The Derbyshire Safety Camera Partnership began operating during October 2001. CREST are responsible for operating all fixed and mobile safety cameras on Derbyshire’s roads. The aim was casualty reduction and was a key driver to contribute towards meeting the governments 2010 casualty reduction targets, based on the 1994 – 1998 average, which were.
- A 40% reduction in the number of people killed or seriously injured.
- A 50 % reduction in the number of children killed or seriously injured.
- A 10 % reduction in the rate of slight casualties.
During 2007 CREST became part of the wider Derby and Derbyshire Road Safety Partnership (DDRSP) which aims to address problem priorities using enforcement, education, and engineering. CREST has widened their capabilities and now focuses on other driving offences as well as speed to address common factors which contribute towards many collisions which occur on Derbyshire’s roads.Operation Safe Drive has been the key to helping CREST diversify into these other road safety areas. How We Are Doing
Collision Statistics
Fixed and mobile safety camera collision statistics are shown in the format of total number of collisions over a three year period prior to enforcement on a particular route, as well as showing the total number of collisions which have occurred over the past three most recent years. The collisions are split between two types, either personal Injury Collisions (PIC's) which display all the collisions that have occurred. The other type is Killed or Seriously Injured Collisions (KSI's) which only list those collisions that resulted in serious or fatal injuries being sustained.

How We Make Decisions
Derby and Derbyshire Road Safety Partnership Management Meetings
In recognition of the need to have regard to the public interest in allowing access to public information held, and in the publication for reasons for decisions made, the "open" session of ratified minutes of formal D&DRSP-level decision making meetings are being made available. They contain discussion of key strategic issues under consideration and the primary decisions relating to resource and budgetary matters.
The "closed" session of the minutes is not available under this Publication Scheme. They contain information of a confidential and sensitive nature e.g. personnel, security matters and commercial interests.
Details of the approved open session minutes from these meetings will be available on the DDRSP website soon.
