On occasions safety cameras can be operated at sites that do not quite fulfil the criteria to qualify as fixed or regular mobile safety camera sites. These sites, which are known as Casualty Prevention Sites, have a recognised speeding problem but do not meet the criteria in relation to casualties.
This type of enforcement is in high demand by members of the public and local police officers, therefore priority is given to the most vulnerable sites.
